You will be developing and operating a new Structural Packaging department within the SGS Asia Pacific Hong Kong office.
This role will combine creativity, visual merchandising, design and construction in a dynamic, process driven environment, working with the Print department.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- College/University degree in Packaging Design / Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 4 years experience working as a Structural Designer, in the corrugated and flexible packaging industry
- Retail and brand packaging experience.
- Working with multiple substrates eg; cardboard, plastic, tin
- ESKO ArtiosCAD 6 - 7
- Rightsizing and Eco-friendly packaging
- CAPE / Tops Pro software knowledge
- Sample making
- Fluent in Cantonese and English
- Putonghua
Beneficial Knowledge
- ESKO 3D Visualizing and Rendering
- CDU and SRP production
- Die-making
- Folding, gluing and fastening
- Kongsberg cutting systems
Job responsibilities
- Engineer, design and develop retail and brand packaging
- Mock-up and prepare samples based on customer requirements
- Working and communicating directly with customers
- Sample outsourcing and Supplier management
- Review and correct Customer/Vendor die-lines
- Work with plants and Vendors on engineering and development issues
- Documentation of layouts
- Provide technical assistance to Print and Prepress teams
- Rightsizing knowledge and reporting
- Eco-friendly and environmental knowledge for substrates and materials
- Arrange sample testing and reporting
